Why I Wrote This Album

The story

This record began as a take I never meant to release. At three in the morning the room was only the low hum of the heater and the occasional car outside. I hit record because I wanted to keep the shape of that room. Three months later I listened back and the noise floor was more honest than any note I had played.

Nocturne in Static grew out of that noise. I kept everything that would normally be cleaned up — the mechanics of the pedal, fingers leaving the strings, the air-con in the microphone. Those sounds are what night actually is.

The question I was working on: when you are alone long enough, quiet becomes a kind of noise. Every piece on this album tests that edge — how little sound you can leave in, and how much louder the feeling gets.

This is the first time I wrote with no platform algorithm in mind. No shortened intro, no chorus pulled forward to keep a listener. If you play it from the first track to the last, you hear one complete night.
