Paper Boats

This is a record about doing the work without knowing whether it will go anywhere.

As a kid I folded paper boats and put them in the gutter, knowing they would sink before thirty metres, and folded them anyway. Making songs feels the same: you finish a track, put it into the current of the internet, and lose control. Where it drifts, who picks it up, in what moment it is heard — none of that is yours to decide.

The year I wrote this album, a stranger put one of my songs on a playlist for the first time. I watched the dashboard go from three digits to five, and I did not know any of those people. It felt strange — like watching your paper boat reach the sea from the bank.

Eleven songs. Each one is a paper boat. Some will sink, some will not. I have already let go.
